Week of October 10th, 2016 | Trick or Treat + The 13 Best Halloween Tees on Teepublic

October means Scary Movies, chilly weather and Trick or Treating with adorable horrific costumes. As you know New York ComicCon was this past weekend, and there was some pretty strong cosplay going on. So much in fact that I think they could definitely inspire some amazing costumes this year. Especially this one from @yaldamn Such an amazing Stranger Things costume of "Will's Mom"  I absolutely love it!

I'd love to know what you all have going on for your costumes this year so leave a comment below or better yet, leave a photo if you have one. I'm a total geek when it comes to cosplay, I can very much appreciate the time and effort that goes into it. So I would love to see what you guys and girls got in the works.

This past Monday I couldn't help but put BB-8 in a costume and send the little droid trick or treating with a Stormtrooper Candy Bucket! 'Trick or Treat' is now available on my Teepublic shop in a variety of styles and colors. You're probably saying right now that you're closet is full of nerdy goodness and there's no way I can fit anything else in there. I get it. Don't get a shirt this time...how about a notebook, or a coffee mug, or start decorating your walls for Halloween with a print. I know it's too awesome to handle and your head is going to explode, but before that happens go check out the shop and pick up this new design, you'll love it!

You know what you'll love even more? My curated collection of the 13 Best Halloween Tees on Teepublic. This is a great collection by some pretty talented artists.  Naturally #1 falls into the Star Wars fandom of course and to make these tees easy to purchase click directly on the shirt you love below! I definitely encourage you to check out their own artist pages for more amazing designs not Halloween related too. Week of August 29th, 2016 | What About Barb? + Strange Music to Design By

It's been a week of Stranger Things. I just finished the series and I could go on about all the things I loved about this show, but I don't want to give away any spoilers, so I'll just say exactly what I said when the last episode came to an end...What about Barb?

No spoilers but Barb is an amazing friend to Nancy and I feel like her character got a little gipped. I might have to leave it at that for the folks who haven't finished the series yet, but I think you'll agree...Barb deserved more.

While being inspired by the show this week, I had to sketch out some of my favorite characters.  First was Dustin. He's all I ever wanted in a geeky friend and more. Here's a little 10 minute sketch of one of my favorite Star Wars references from the show, too.

I was obviously passionate about Barb's character as well, inspired by my love 90's movies and Bill Murray, I came up with this new design which I hope you all like as much as I do. I definitely see a coffee mug of this design on my desk soon. 'What About Barb' is now available on my Teepublic shop in a variety of styles and colors. As I mentioned before the coffee mug will most likely be decorating my creative space here pretty soon.

A few people ask what I listen to while creating my designs and really depends on my mood and the mood of the shirt of course. This time I really wanted to get into this one, so I listened to the Stranger Things soundtrack on Spotify. I did find myself switching back and forth from this to a compilation of the 80's songs featured in the episodes, and it was an awesome mix of music to create to. You can find the 80's mix on Spotify here.

I'm always curious what other designers listen to while creating and what helps them get in that zone. Feel free to suggest some playlists or songs/soundtracks that I can check out.

It's been a Strange but fun week working on this and I can't wait to just relax this weekend and try not to think of Barb...poor, Barb. Have an amazing Labor Day Weekend and May The Force Be With You!!
